The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) in London is once again staging another summer exhibition. Following last year’s record-breaking 250th instalment, this year will display over 1,500 artworks in all mediums - print and paintings, film, photography, sculpture, architectural works and more - from internationally renowned artists and exciting new talents.
The first time I have visited RA was four summers ago. This is one of my husband’s favourite museums and one of his go-to summer art exhibits in London. I was so impressed by the creativity and how they have curated all their beautiful artworks.
Here are some of the art pieces from last year’s exhibit:
WNDR FACT: RA’s summer exhibition has been running without interruption since 1769.
WNDR FACT: Most of the artworks are for sale and the proceeds help fund the Academy’s non-profit making activities.
This year’s summer exhibition (251st year of celebrating art and creativity) is featuring an animal-themed ‘menagerie’ in the Central Hall. It opened last 10th of June and will close by the 12th of August. By just looking at the promotional images on their website alone, it already feels exhilarating. If ever you’re in London this summer, don’t forget to visit RA.
